FAQ

Your mattress will ship FedEx Ground from our Southern California facilities. Depending on when you order it usually takes us 2-3 business days to build your mattress and 1-5 additional business days to arrive depending on your location. Most orders will arrive within 3-6 business days of ordering with longer times possible for outlying areas and around holidays or busy times.

At this time we don’t offer any expedited shipping options. In order to keep shipping costs and, therefore, mattress costs down we’ve negotiated great rates with FedEx Ground based on a single type of shipping. We decided we’d rather keep the prices lower for everyone.

Yes we absolutely ship to Hawaii and Alaska. It does, however, cost us considerably more to ship to these areas so we’ll add an additional shipping charge to your order. This will add a flat $200 per order. Keep in mind that if you need to do a return this additional charge will not be refunded.

We currently do not offer international shipping. We desire to provide the best possible experience for our customers including offering our 100 Night Trial and 10 year Limited Warranty. At this time we’re not able to provide the level of service we’d like outside the United States.

Shipping is always free anywhere within the contiguous United States. Hawaii and Alaska cost us considerably more for shipping so we’ll add an additional shipping charge to these orders. This will add $200 per order. Keep in mind that if you need to do a return this additional charge will not be refunded.

The box your mattress will come in measures 19”x19”x44”.

  2. Unbox mattress roll and place at the end of setup area
  3. Carefully unpeel outer plastic layer and unroll
  4. Position compressed mattress just where you want it-white side up

Pacific mattresses are exceptional-quality, luxury all foam mattresses at a fraction of the cost of other luxury mattresses. Pacifics are made up of our exclusive and innovative Pacific Float Foam, high quality manufactured latex and ultra-dense support cores. Our Pacific Float uses lots of tiny air pockets to provide best-in-industry support and pressure relief. It also dampens movements better than any mattress we’ve seen including a certain famous one that starts with T. Pacific Float combined with our high quality latex offers ultra-quick responsiveness and deep down body support. Our Pacific Float and support cores are certified CertiPUR-US and our latex is Oeko-Tex standard 100 certified ensuring high-quality, low VOC’s and no harmful compounds like mercury and formaldehyde. Simply put Pacific Mattresses are two of the highest quality and safest mattresses available anywhere.

Our exclusive Pacific Float Foam absorbs energy and dampens movements better than any other mattress we’ve tested. With your partner over-exaggeratedly flopping and even dive-bombing onto the mattress you may notice something happened, but you will be shocked at how little you feel. (Keep in mind if you try this at home please make sure your frame is sturdy enough for dive-bombing!!) More low-key or regular movements will be almost totally imperceptible. Get ready for fully undisturbed sleep on your new Pacific!

We think it’s awesome! Results will vary, of course, but Pacific Float Foam has ultra-quick responsiveness and doesn’t have the quicksand feel that memory foam beds have. Movements of any kind are much easier and faster than memory foam. Latex also usually has better mobility than memory foam, but when combined with our Pacific Float it really knocks your socks off. And your partners’.

We want to give you a fair amount of time to determine if yourPacific Mattress is just right for you. Mattresses tend to break in a littleand bodies sometimes have an adjustment period while getting used to propersupport and alignment. This can take even longer depending on the condition ofyour old mattress so we give you 100 nights to test it out. Keep in mind that this100 Night Trial is only offered if you buy your mattress directly from ourwebsite. For all the details click here

If you wish to return your mattress within the first 100 days after your receipt of said mattress and you purchased it directly from our website please email us at support@pacificmattressco.com to arrange a return pick-up. Returned mattresses will usually be donated to charity and, therefore, must be in donatable condition to be eligible for return. Generally, we will cover any applicable costs should a pick-up be necessary. Returns originally shipped to Hawaii and Alaska will not be refunded the additional shipping charge. We don’t require this, but we do suggest trying your Pacific Mattress for at least a month before returning since your mattress will change a little as it breaks in. Additionally, your body is used to your old mattress and sometimes it can take some time to readjust to optimal support and alignment.

Once you’ve donated your mattress just email us a scan or pic of your donation receipt and we’ll get your refund processed.

You don’t need to keep the original box (just try and fit your mattress back in there!), but we do suggest saving the plastic bag your mattress comes wrapped in. In case of a return we’ll most likely donate it to a local charity and the bag will ensure nice clean transit.

After receiving your donation receipt we’ll usually have your refund processed within 1-3 business days. After that your bank can take 1-5 days to show the refund. If you don’t see it within these time frames please contact your bank for further information.

Any standard pocket sheets will fit your Pacific just fine. We recommend fitted sheets with strong elastic all the way around. Our favorites are high quality bamboo.

Yes, we do recommend using a mattress protector with your Pacific mattress. Our mattresses are built to last a long time and sweat, skin and body oils naturally leach from our skin every night. A good quality waterproof mattress protector will keep your Pacific in sanitary condition for its whole life. We recommend a fitted sheet type which is breathable or heat wicking as some protectors can make folks sleep warmer. One we’ve had good results with is the Malouf Omniphase and Tensel5 sided mattress protector.

Pacific Mattresses are designed to work on a firm, solid-surface or other bed base which is structurally capable of supporting the weight of both your mattress and yourself and any sleep partners, i.e. slatted bases with gaps no larger than 3 inches are usually sufficient, but heavier users may require smaller gaps. Using a bunkie board on slatted bases will always give optimal support for your Pacific. Your Pacific will also work on a standard boxspring, adjustable base or even the floor.

A bunkie board is a super thin foundation made especially to add more even mattress support to slatted bed frames. If the gaps between your slats are 1 ½” or smaller you probably don’t need one, however, if they are larger than 3” then we definitely recommend one. Some folks will find better mattress support using a bunkie for gaps 1 ½”-3”.

Your Pacific will work wonderfully with most adjustable bases. Our mattresses are designed with great flexibility for articulating with an adjustable base without damage or voiding your warranty. Most adjustable bases have solid tops, but if it has slats just make sure the gaps are smaller than 3”.

We currently accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

Certain states require the collection of a recycling fee for each mattress sold. These fees are passed through to the states to fund statewide mattress recycling programs. Currently California, Connecticut and Rhode Island have these programs and each state sets the amount of their fee. For more information you can check out byebyemattress.com.

Sales tax laws require us to collect sales tax for shipments to California where our current facilities are located. Any sales tax owed will show in your cart prior to submitting payment.

Our 10 year Limited Warranty covers defects such as sagging too deep, foam cracking or splitting and unraveling stitching or zipper malfunctions in the mattress cover.

Any changes resulting from normal wear and tear or uses outside those intended are not covered. Find all the details at the link above.

If you think you have a claim under our 10 year Limited Warranty email us at support@pacificmattressco.com with a description and, if possible, photos of the issue and we’ll get to the bottom of it as soon as possible. All the details can be found in the Claims section at the link above.

Our outer covers are made of high quality polyester, rayon, modacrylic and a small amount of lycra (for stretching and contouring to bodies). Our covers also use silica (ultra-fine sand), a natural fire retardant for greater safety. Our top cover also includes billions of Phase Change Material capsules which transfer heat away from bodies leaving a nice, cool feel (similar to clothing often worn by athletes).

You can zip off the top portion of the cover and machine wash it in cold water. Line dry-do not put in the dryer as it may shrink.

Your mattress cover is included in our 10 year Limited Warranty. If you think you have a cover issue due to a manufacturing defect in either materials or workmanship please email us at support@pacificmattressco.com.

Generally, your Pacific mattress will function perfectly fine on the floor, however, if you live in a humid climate we do suggest propping up your mattress regularly to allow refreshing airflow underneath. This will eliminate moisture and thereby reduce the potential for mildew.

Pacific mattresses have a top and bottom so always keep the white side up. From time to time you can rotate your mattress from head to foot in order to wear the mattress more evenly. Rotating more frequently in the beginning can also help to break in your mattress more quickly and evenly.

Yes, they are absolutely vegan.

We use a fire barrier fabric sock which encases the mattress inside the outer cover. This is made up of natural and synthetic fibers impregnated with the natural fire retardant, silica (ultra-fine sand), without bonding agents or glues. Our outer cover is also enhanced with silica for extra safety.

It’s possible your mattress will have a faint “new bed” smell for a few days. This usually dissipates very quickly and is due to vacuum sealing after manufacture. We use carefully designed and selected materials to ensure any smell is not from harmful chemicals. We use more expensive, but safer water based adhesives rather than the solvent based adhesives usually associated with strong chemical odors. Our Pacific Float and support cores are certified CertiPUR-US and our latex is Oeko-Tex standard 100 certified ensuring high-quality, lowest VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) and no harmful compounds such as PBDE flame retardants and formaldehyde. If you’d like to speed up the process you can air out your mattress with any bedding removed.

Pacific mattresses are designed with your safety in mind. We use impregnated silica (ultra-fine sand) without bonding agents or glues to keep our mattresses fire safe. We use more expensive, but safer water-based adhesives rather than more chemical laden solvent-based adhesives. Our Pacific Float foam and support cores are certified CertiPUR-US by third party CertiPUR. From their website this specifically means low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than .5 parts per million) as well as made WITHOUT all of the following: ozone depleters; PBDE, TDCPP or TCEP fire retardants; mercury, lead and other heavy metals; formaldehyde and phthalates. Latex undergoes separate certifications and ours is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 which also ensures no harmful substances.
